For shipments outside the EU, goods are generally supplied frozen at -18°C, with an average delivery time of around 30 days. In European markets, in addition to frozen, we also handle a large quantity of fresh products, thanks to our fast and reliable logistics.

We only select certified facilities, with the utmost attention to animal welfare and food safety.

Respect for animal welfare has always been a fundamental pillar of our work.

We work exclusively with EEC-authorised slaughterhouses, recognised by the Ministry of Health, which operate in full compliance with European regulations on animal welfare, hygiene, and safety. We personally check the establishments we work with, visiting them periodically to assess their sanitary conditions, the technologies they use, product traceability, and compliance with export requirements.

In addition to documentation and certification, we directly verify the traceability of each operation. Every facility we work with—whether slaughterhouses, cutting plants, or workers/processors—is duly registered, recognised, and authorised for export. This careful control enables us to provide our customers with a safe, transparent, and compliant service at every stage of the process, from selection to delivery.

Particular attention is paid to slaughter methods, which must ensure that the animal does not suffer or experience stress. For example, many of the establishments we work with use gas chambers, a technique that allows for a gentle and painless death. This ethical approach, in addition to having moral value, also contributes to improving the final quality of the meat, which is more tender and free from the harmful effects caused by pre-slaughter stress.

Finally, another aspect that is very important to us is environmental sustainability. For this reason, with the help of industry experts, we select facilities that adopt responsible processes, reduce their environmental impact, and continually improve their production performance.

Health and hygiene certifications

Serena is committed to selecting suppliers who not only comply with health and hygiene regulations but also adopt certified quality control systems.

Among the main certifications required by our customers are:

  • IFS (International Food Standard) – guarantees the adequacy of processes and the quality of food products.
  • BRC (British Retail Consortium) – certifies compliance with the highest health and hygiene standards in production.
  • HACCP – a system for analysing and controlling risks at all stages of the food chain, from processing to storage.

We always have up-to-date copies of these certifications, which we can provide on request, ensuring maximum transparency and reliability in every negotiation.

Our logistical and operational support

Once the order has been placed, our Shipping and Logistics department efficiently manages all subsequent stages, from load planning to final delivery. We carefully organise the day, time, and loading point, working with trusted truck or container carriers and adapting to the customer's needs and the country of destination.

Thanks to our extensive experience in the export sector, our team carefully reviews all health and customs documentation to ensure it is complete, up-to-date, and compliant with international regulations.

During transport and customs clearance, we guarantee constant monitoring and 24/7 operational support to prevent delays and promptly manage any unforeseen events. At the end of the shipment, we send the supplier all the necessary documentation confirming customs clearance.
